This month we held our annual State of the Company meeting, celebrating our 2024 year and looking forward into 2025.  

We’ve held this meeting for over 20 years and it was born out of a request of our team to learn more about how we are doing operationally and financially, where we are headed, where we see the industry going, where we align, and where we will allocate resources to continually improve and grow. 

Our Next Level 7-Year Plan was created two years ago and maps our course to double in size by 2031. The plan is our guide as we make investments and set priorities for 2025 and beyond. 

We ended 2024 close to 12% top line growth which is just shy of our 20 year CAGR. We have grown every year for the last 25 years and we again landed in the top quartile of profitability in our peer group. I like the guide of top quartile as it allows for reinvestment while generating fair profits for our financial stakeholders. Our Profitable Growth strategy falls in the same philosophy as CEO Alan Schnitzer from The Travelers states – Perform and Transform – great entities do both. 

Our sales team had the most Risk Advisors exceed their goals in our company’s history, and we see great positive trends in our ability to recruit, train, mentor, and launch new Risk Advisors as well as optimize validated Risk Advisor’s chances of exceeding their goals. Our sales culture is gaining momentum and we are seeing the fruits of long-term investments here.  

We heavily invested in the foundation of who we are, a people focused organization. We currently have more than 20 Emerging Professionals in our Emerging Insurance Professionals Program (EIPP), graduated two Risk Advisors and expect more graduates from the program this year. We have close to 40 people in our Emerging Leaders program which trains our team members on principle centered leadership and our systems and models. I expect 100 Emerging Professionals and 60 Emerging Leaders trained and ready for our Next Level. I heard a comment on how emerging professionals are the future, yet the reality is they are the NOW. We feel their energy and their contributions NOW and the growth potential of the Future.  

We invested in our Client Experience strategy, launching and completing continuous improvement projects across multiple disciplines and lined up top priorities for 2025. We continue to invest in our Great Place To Work strategy with development plans, our Power of the Brain wellbeing program, and targeted industry, leadership, technical, and power skills development programs. 

We look to grow by 15% in 2025 and focus on optimizing all of our stakeholders – client, team members, suppliers, and community. We are proof that companies can thrive in a capitalistic system and be people focused who care about others while making sure all stakeholders are optimized, not one at the expense of the other. 

We also talked about the concept of individual self-assertion and goal setting aligned with a greater purpose or a common good. We labeled self-assertion and being locked in on developing as a thinker, leader, and collaborator (TLC) as skill sets of a ME mindset. Great organizations and great teams that are consistent over time have WE mindset. We believe ME-WE mindset is key to our Next Level build.  

As we stay people focused, financially disciplined, and looking out for win-win, we expect 2025 to be a great year. No matter what, we will stick to our way.
