I am reading Good Energy by Casey Means, MD. Dr. Means has an incredible story about her work in the medical field as a Stamford trained medical doctor and how she decided she could no longer meet the oath she took within the U.S. medical and healthcare systems. She has been a frequent guest on podcasts and has some good content in her newsletter which I’ve found through Google and/or YouTube. Her brother, Calley Means, was a former lobbyist for the food and pharmaceutical industry and has joined his sister to educate the public on the entirety of our food, drug, and healthcare system.
Casey Means has researched the effects of metabolic cell breakdown from the toxins and environment we expose our bodies and minds to. I am fascinated by the negative effects of our environment on our neurological health, inclusive of depression, Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, etc., and I am learning we can do something about this with proactive action.
I thought this edition of her newsletter titled, A protocol to protect your precious mind, was a good introduction to some of her work – https://www.caseymeans.com/learn/newsletter-44-dementia-plan.
We have a Power of the Brain program here at Smith Brothers where we offer resources to help our team members become more aware of how to use their brain as an asset and not allow it to be a liability. I am sharing this information with our team members and wanted to share it with you as a reader as well. I am not endorsing nor stating its full accuracy, instead I am learning and making myself aware. If you too are interested in this topic, here are a couple other related podcasts that may be of interest.
- Thomas Seyfried is a Professor of Biology, genetics, and biochemistry at Boston College. In this podcast he talks about how Cancer is less a genetic disease and more a metabolic disease and how we can leverage our body’s metabolic system to fight cancer cells (preventive or coincide with treatment). Dr. Thomas Seyfried – The Diary Of A CEO.
- Georgia Ede is a Harvard trained psychiatrist who talks about food intake and effects on anxiety and depression in her book, Change your Diet: Change your Mind. Dr. Georgia Ede – The Diary Of A CEO.
