Taunya Bird, Account Manager at Smith Brothers Insurance in Glastonbury, CT, will compete in the Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Chamber’s (CTGLC) 2022 Dancing with the Local Stars competition.
The dancing competition is part of the chamber’s major fundraising event of the year, A Night of 1000 Smiles, to be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 6pm to 11pm at Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
Proceeds will go to several of the nonprofits the chamber supports, primarily the CTGLC Foundation which provides scholarships to LGBTQ youth and allies making a difference in their communities.
Bird has supported CTGLC for several years and now serves as Treasurer.
According to Bird, she got involved with the chamber to bring awareness to their non-profit work. Now that the chamber is holding live, in-person events again, she is excited to take part, dancing the Tango with her friend and ally, Judy Ramsdell.
